Congratulations to 47 students from Penta's main campus and from its satellite programs at Anthony Wayne and Otsego who earned top awards at the 2025 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Regional Competition.  These students earned either a gold, silver or bronze award.  Students who qualify for the Ohio FCCLA Competition in April will be announced in the coming weeks.  The students are advised by instructors Dova Zak, Janea Makowski, Alyssa Johnson, Amanda Valdez, Kay-Lynne Schaller, and Jill Kao.  Click HERE to see the list of students who competed and earned top awards.  

     Congratulations to 42 Penta Career Center students who earned top awards at the 2025 SkillsUSA Northwest Regional Competition on February 14.  These students now qualify for the Ohio SkillsUSA Championships which take place on March 18 in Columbus, Ohio.  Click HERE to see the entire list of students who earned awards.   

     Congratulations to students from Penta's on campus programs and its satellite programs at Swanton High School who earned top awards on January 17 at the Regional Business Professionals of America (BPA) competition.  As a result of receiving this recognition, 24 students now qualify for the Ohio BPA competition which will be held in March in Columbus.  Click HERE to see the list of students who received awards and qualify for the state contest.  BPA is a career-technical student organization for students enrolled in business and technology programs.  

     Congratulations to our students who competed on January 10 at The University of Toledo in the HOSA Regional Competition.  Students from the Medical Technologies Academy, Dental Assistant and Exercise Science & Sports Medicine programs competed with 40 students earning top awards.  Click HERE for a list of students who placed in the Top 4 and who will advance to the HOSA state competition in April.  Great job to our students and our instructors!

     As the new year begins, Penta Career Center’s Aspire program wants to remind area adults that it offers free GED preparation and other skill enhancement classes at 16 convenient locations in Lucas and Wood counties.  Aspire provides adult learners with instruction that focuses on reading, math, writing, language, science, and social studies to help them earn their high school equivalency/GED.  Classes also help students develop technology, workforce and career readiness skills.   

     Recently the Aspire administrative offices moved from the Penta Career Center main campus at 9301 Buck Road in Perrysburg Township to Penta’s satellite campus located at 1205 Corporate Drive in Holland.   

    Penta Career Center has selected four former students as recipients of the 2024 Outstanding Alumni Award.  The alumni will be recognized during a special evening banquet at Penta on November 14.  Each year the Penta Career Center Outstanding Alumni Award is bestowed upon individuals who have completed a career-technical training program at Penta and who are currently working in a successful career.   Since the award’s inception in 1993, 183 former high school or adult education students have been honored with the award.
